Goals for 2018

With 2017 coming to a close in just a few hours, I thought I would write my goals down for 2018 as a way to make myself more accountable. I’d also love to know what your goals are! Is 2018 going to be your year!? I hope so!

My Personal Goals:

  1. Work out more (the goal everyone else has) – This is not original by any means but I really would like to try to workout more. I’ve already started this by getting a skiing season pass. Let me tell you, I was SORE after my first night skiing! I would feel accomplished if I skied (or played kickball etc.) once a week, and then one other day of the week went to the gym or did an at-home workout.
  2. Spend less money on food – I got into a bad habit of eating out or ordering out this past year. Not only is this less healthy, but it’s become expensive. I could be saving more money or spending it on other things (makeup…).This is a goal that I’ll have to work on with my boyfriend as well.

My Blogging/YouTube Goals:

  1. Post one blog post a week for each of my three categories (life, beauty, and food). That’s 3 blog posts a week! I never even considered the fact that I could post once a week in each category until someone suggested it in a blogging group on Facebook. It seems so obvious! To help myself plan out my posts I will be using a planner that I created. It will be available for FREE on tomorrow’s post!
  2. Post a video on my YouTube channel (Here) once a week. I’m not going to restrict myself to a certain day of the week (for example every Monday) for posting, but I think that once a week is a goal I can accomplish.

My Usborne Books and More Goal:

  1. Host a party at least once a month. I don’t expect this to be a ludicrous side hustle and I’m not putting in enough work to make it one. However, I enjoy the books and the company and I like hosting parties so I will continue to make this a regular goal in 2018.

And that’s it! I think it’s important to be reasonable about the number of goals you set for yourself. Too many and you’ll just get overwhelmed. Too few and you won’t be motivated. This seems like a good amount for me and I am hopeful that I will reach these goals! What are your goals for 2018?

December Boxycharm

This month I received my first subscription box from Boxycharm! I signed up in October and I was put on the waitlist until this month. It was definitely worth the wait, though, I love all of the products that I got this month and I can’t wait to try them out.

How Boxycharm Works:

Boxycharm is $21 per month. This price includes all the products as well as shipping charges. Inside your box you get 4 or 5 full size products and a paper describing what each product it and how much it would usually cost. All boxes are worth AT LEAST $100. Mine was definitely over that this month.

My Box This Month:

Real Her Blush Kit: This kit included 3 different blush shades in a sturdy white package. The shades appear to by glittery but I have not tried this on yet so hopefully it will turn out okay on my skin tone! http://bit.ly/2eP8XO9

Crown Brush Deluxe Blush Brush: This is a beautiful white brush that is densely packed. It is a little denser than the blush brush I usually use, but I am excited to use it with a light hand. http://bit.ly/2D5VokF

Pretty Vulgar My Lips are Sealed Lightweight Liquid Lipstick: I love the packaging of this! It has roses on the cap and the packaging is clear with rose gold accents. The shade is a mauve-pink metallic color.  http://seph.me/2CHcHaN

Tarte Tarteist Lash Paint Mascara: This is a pretty plain black mascara with a rubber brush. I have heard good reviews on this product so I am hoping to find a new mascara to love!  http://bit.ly/2iaURs7

Beaute Basics Bronze Essentials: This bronzer comes in a plastic package. There are 3 different shades of bronzer and a golden highlight shade. It can be worn separately or you can mix it all together. it looks gorgeous!  http://bit.ly/2BBUuMA

The Ultimate Guide to Cozy Christmas Candles

If you’re anything like me, you always have at least one candle burning on winter evenings. I have quite the collection of candles, but these are my favorite candles during the Christmas season.

I LOVE Target candles. They are affordable ($5 for small, $10 for medium, and $15 for huge) and they burn all the way to the end of the wax. I get so annoyed when there is still wax on the side of the jar and the wick is gone.

Merry and Bright: Target’s website describes this scent as “wine and spice.” I love this warm scent that just reminds me of cooking in a warm house during the Christmas season.

Sleigh Ride: I couldn’t find this candle on the website, I think it was a candle that was available last year. I found a similar one called “Cozy Nights.” This scent is lighter than Merry and Bright with a little bit of peppermint in it.

Nordic Pine: This was also a candle that was only available last year (sorry!) but it is similar to the next candle on this list, Fresh Balsam.

These two candles were on sale in the seasonal aisles of my local Wegmans. I couldn’t find them on the website. I guess I should have checked out these candles before I wrote a post!

Fresh Balsam: Almost every candle brand has this type of scent. It smells like the dream Christmas tree. We have a fake tree so I love lighting this and pretending ours is real!

Twisted Peppermint: This is another popular candle scent during the winter, and for a good reason. It is a little strange because I usually associate peppermint with a cool scent, but obviously this is a warm peppermint scent. Burning this one and the Fresh Balsam candle at the same time is the best combination!

What are your favorite Christmas candles?

Pupdate ~ Mila

It’s been almost two months since I have updated this blog about my wonderful puppy Mila! She is around 8 months old now and is only slightly bigger than when you last saw her.

She is spayed now and completely healed from her surgery. I have to admit though, it was pretty funny when she had to wear the cone! For a few weeks after her surgery, she was getting up in the middle of the night to go outside. She also went through a week where she was up at 4:00 am to go out and I couldn’t get back to sleep after that. For the most part, the earliest she wakes up to go out is 6:00 and sometimes she will sleep until 7:30 on the weekends!

She eats the same amount of food (1 cup twice a day, you can find the food here). We have noticed that she has filled out some from when we first got her, but she runs around too much to be chunky!

Speaking of running around, she has figured out that I’m the “mom” and she comes to me when she’s tired or when she’s feeling gentle. She never bites me when I play with her. My boyfriend is definitely the playmate. They wrestle and she gets a little more rough with him than she does with me. Sometimes they can really get each other going and she gets super hyper.

She still can do “sit” and “shake” and now she consistently responds to “crate” by going right into her crate (even if she’s not happy about it). Every day when I leave for work she still whines but it’s quieter than it used to be. I turn on an old radio that plays all day for her so she can at least hear voices. She also gets walked every day by our dog walker. She loves Mila so much and spends a lot of time with her and is always sending pictures. She is still so excited to see me when I get home!

Basically, she is the perfect puppy! I hope to be doing more pupdates on her and I will definitely show her when she is a year old!

Usborne Books and More

I’ve recently become a consultant with Usborne books! I fell in love after attending an online party. I decided to host my own party and now I’m a consultant! So far, I’m loving it. All of the books that I have received have been such nice quality. Even though I don’t have any kids of my own, I love the books for my kindergarten class. I even enjoy some of the YA books for myself!

I definitely recommend checking out Usborne. Not only do they have great fiction and non-fiction books for kids, they have unique book styles such as flashlight books, painting books, and so much more! Check out this link to see all of the books we offer and place an order!

If you find that you really love the books or the company you can host your own online party. This is a great way to get FREE books and connect with friends. Hosting a party is easy, you just have to find people like you interested in books!

I’ll be writing lots more posts about Usborne but for now, I’d just like to mention that if you host a party within the next month, you will get double your hostess rewards! And it’s not too late to order books for Christmas – they just have to be submitted by December 12.

If you would like to host an easy party for your friends, let me know! I would love to be your book lady! Just leave a comment that you are interested and I will contact you to get started!
