I LOVE the Boxycharm box this month – I wasn’t disappointed by a single product!
How Boxycharm Works:
Boxycharm is $21 per month. This price includes all the products as well as shipping charges. Inside your box you get 4 or 5 full size products and a paper describing what each product it and how much it would usually cost. All boxes are worth AT LEAST $100. Mine was definitely over that this month.
My Box this Month:
Dr. Brandt Pores No More Vacuum Cleaner Face Mask: This tiny little bottle costs $47 usually! Quite a deal considering I only paid $21 for this whole box. I have yet to try this out, but I’m planning to tonight. It’s just so expensive I feel like I should save it!
Tarte Tarteist PRO Glow Liquid: I’ve never actually owned a liquid highlighter before so I was excited to try this out! While it definitely isn’t a blinding highlight, it does have a nice glow and can be built up or added to with powder highlight. i might even try mixing this in with my foundation.
The BrowGal Eyebrow Gel: This is pretty average eyebrow gel that I used after I had already filled in my brows. I’m looking forward to trying this out on a no-makeup makeup day!
Adesse Hi Definition Liquid Lipstick: I was thinking this would be more of a matte finish, but it definitely isn’t. It’s comparable to ColourPop ultra satin lips, maybe with even more gloss. I love the color I got!
ColourPop My Little Pony Eyeshadow Palette: This is too cute! Not only do I love the packaging of this, but I love the eyeshadow product inside! I’ve only used ColourPop single shadows, but the ones in the palette seemed high quality as well!
If you’d like to see a more in depth review of the products this month, as well as see me try them on, make sure you check out my video!
I’m just going to come right out and say this – this was not very good. I’m not sure if I made it wrong or if I just don’t like the dish itself, but it sounded like something I would love! I mean cheese and tater tots – what’s not to love!?
I’m pretty disappointed that I didn’t like my new dish this week, but oh well you can’t win them all. I originally found the recipe on Pinterest here. I followed the recipe pretty well except I used turkey sausage instead of pork and almond milk instead of cream. This may have been when things went terribly wrong.
I’m not going to bother giving you my version of the recipe since mine turned out so bad. If you want to give it a go, follow the recipe from the above link. And please let me know if your is actually good! Here are some pictures of the cheesy tot making process.
Hoping for a better meal for next week’s Friday food!
I woke up pretttty late this Sunday, but hey, it’s my weekend!
10:00 am (okay it was really more like 11:00) – Breakfast
For breakfast I made some delicious cinnamon rolls. These are the kind that come in the little tube and you just have to separate, bake, and ice them. I also needed some fresh coffee beans ground up. I usually do this once a week so the beans are mostly fresh, but I don’t have to get out the grinder every day. This particular bag from Starbucks is so good!
12:00 – General Clean Up
Sundays are my cleaning days (see my blog post on that here) but since I’ve been home all week and keeping up with the chores for once, there wasn’t a whole lot of cleaning to do. I did, however, finally get around to cleaning out the snail home. It looks so much better! Mostly I just tidied up and then took a shower myself.
1:00 – Lunch
My boyfriend is obsessed with cast iron pans. Like truly obsessed. Everything he makes, he makes in it. For lunch, he made a homemade pizza in it and it turned out delicious! We just bought the dough from the grocery store so it didn’t take much time at all to make.
2:00 – Laze around
For most of the rest of the day I just laid around reading and watching tv. I also took some adorable photos of my dog (see above).
My boyfriend and I also re-potted some house plants that have been growing!
And that’s pretty much my exciting day! What did you do this weekend?
Ever have those days where you see some colorful eyeshadows and you just HAVE to make a look with them? No? Just me? Oh well, that’s basically what happened here. I’m not as keen on the blue inner corners as I thought I would be, but I wouldn’t have known until I tried! Let me know what you think and what your fun makeup ideas for spring are!
In the past few months, I’ve been trying to mix up the foods i make since I make the same 5 meals over and over again. So, I’m going to try a new recipe every week (usually something I’ve found on Pinterest or another blog), try it out, and let you know how it goes! This week I decided to try making fried rice.
Originally I found the recipe here. I will say though, the directions and ingredients are vague so I kinda made it my own.
You will need:
- 2 cups of COOKED, COLD rice
- 2 eggs, fried
- 1/2 onion, diced
- 1/3 cup peas (can use frozen)
- 2-3 large carrots, cut (I used about 10 baby carrots and cut those up)
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3-4 tablespoons soy sauce (or more to taste)
- salt and pepper
- Make ahead: rice (cold rice works best for this recipe) and fried eggs (also best cold)
- In a large saute pan, heat butter, onions, carrots, peas, salt, pepper, and garlic until veggies are soft – around 5 minutes.
- Add in cold rice and soy sauce.
- Heat until veggies and rice begin to brown, stirring often.
- Remove from heat and add in fried eggs, mixing well.
- Eat and enjoy!
Let me know if you try this recipe out and how it turns out! Happy Friday!
Considering what a long month March is, I really didn’t read as many books as I wanted to. Oh well, there’s always April!
“The Shining” is one of my favorite movies of all time so I was excited to FINALLY read the book. It was different from the movie, but not extremely different as I thought it was going to be. Obviously, this is a scary book at times so I wouldn’t recommend reading it at night along. Just some advice.
For March, the Buzzfeed bookclub theme was to read immigrant fiction. I’ll admit, I was not too excited by the theme this month, but I ended up loving this book! I literally just googled “good immigrant fiction” and this was one of the first books that popped up. I guess other people must like it as well!
This was a book that I listened to on my ride to work and home. I love Chelsea Handler’s other books and this was no exception! Each chapter was written by one of her friends and they were also the ones to read the story for the audiobook. Very funny!
Another audiobook that I listened to in the car. I love Sophie Kinsella and her chick-lit stories. If that seems like your type of book I would recommend checking out all of her books!
What did you read in March?
I’m finally back! March was quite the busy, tiring month, but now that I am on Spring break for a week I am excited to start posting again and also getting things ready for future posts.
I also wanted to post a video to my YouTube channel so I filmed a haul that I really did a while ago. I just rounded everything that I bought back up again so I could show you! Most of the stuff (especially the clothes) were on sale and I’ve already worn and tried most items.
Enjoy the video!
