Recently while on vacation, I picked up two of the new SuperStay Matte Ink Liquid Lipsticks from Maybelline. I hadn’t heard much about these, but I wanted to try them out since the drugstore has been getting a lot better at liquid lipsticks. I’ve swatched them and have worn one of the colors a few times so I am ready to give my review on them!
I got two shades, Loyalist (pink-nude) and Heroine (bright red-orange). They came out with 10 shades, but most of them were picked through at the Target that I was shopping at. They were $7.99 at Target. As is typical as the drugstore, the bottles were sealed shut so you couldn’t open it and swatch.
Once I got them home and swatched them, they appeared to be a very similar color to the outside of the packaging, even though it was not clear plastic. The packaging feels very nice to the touch and this product contains 0.17 fluid ounces which I think is a good amount for the price.
This product has a doe-foot applicator with an indent in the middle (to hold more product I’m guessing). They smell like vanilla as soon as you open them, bu I couldn’t smell it once I put it on my lips.
These are quite opaque colors, especially the nude one I tried. They dry down to a complete matte with no transfer. They look great as soon as you put them on! However, I noticed that after a few hours they started to crack on my lips and make them look very dry. This is not untypical for matte lipsticks and if I used a sugar scrub before application, I eliminated this problem. They felt very comfortable on my lips for at least 3 hours.
When I went to take the swatches off my arms with a makeup wipe, the red shade left behind a stain. I like this though, as it means that the color is long-lasting.
Overall, I’m really impressed with this product! It needs to be applied to moisturized lips like most other liquid lipsticks, but if you are prepared for that, then these are a good product for your money! Let me know if you tried these out and what you thought about them!

I love, love, love these ( but you already knew that 🙂 ). I agree that I have to exfoliate and have moisturized lips before applying them. Because I don’t typically prefer a matte lip, I throw a NYX butter gloss on top and love the way it turns out! Great review. xoxo
