Favorite Face Masks

Face masks are some of the most luxurious and pampering products. I love treating myself to a face mask, a glass of wine, and a good book. I own six different face masks that I interchangeably use when I feel that my skin needs something (like hydration or pore filling). I briefly touched on how face masks are part of my skin care routine in another blog post and video!

I love all the masks that I use and would re-purchase all of them. Keeping that in mind, I’m going to give a review of each of the face masks I own and link to them so you can buy them if it appeals to you!

The first mask I bought was the Origins Clear Improvement mask. This is an “active charcoal mask to clear pores.” This mask is $27 and I purchased mine at Sephora. I like to use this mask when I have break-outs, which are usually hormonal. This mask is very drying, though, so I don’t use it more than once a week. This is the only Origins product I have used, but I am tempted to buy more because I love this mask so much!

After buying that mask, I pretty much became obsessed with masks. L’Oreal came out with 3 different masks and I bought the Purify and Mattify Pure-Clay mask. This is the green mask that they released. This mask is $12.99 and I bought mine at Target, although I have seen this in most drugstores that sell L’Oreal. Like the Origins mask I use this when my skin is breaking out or when my face just feels dirty. Again, I only use this once a week as it can be quite drying.

Another drugstore mask that I love is the e.l.f. Hydrating Bubble Mask. E.l.f. released an entire skincare line dedicated to hydration. I bought mine for $14 at Target. This mask is so fun because once you put it on, it starts foaming and bubbling on your face. It actually tickles a lot! I love the feeling of my skin after using this mask, and since it is hydrating, you could use it as often as you want.

On the more expensive side, I have 3 Glam Glow masks. I didn’t buy these for myself, my wonderful boyfriend got them for me for Valentine’s day. This mask in the blue bottle is the Thirstymud Hydration Treatment. I love leaving this on for a long time. The longer I leave it on, the softer my skin feels. I have also used this as an over-night mask. It retails for $69, as do the rest of the Glam Glow masks.

The green mask from Glam Glow is probably my favorite of all of my masks! This is the Powermud Dualcleanse Treatment. I love how Glam Glow just throws all their words together and makes new words! This is a thick mask that has granules that exfoliate when you rub it off. I use this when my skin needs clearing.

The last mask I have is the Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment from Glam Glow. This is the harshest mask I own. This almost hurts while you have it on, but it really does make your skin feel firmer. It is a very thick formula and has chunks (of something?) in it.

For the most part, I like to apply my face masks with a flat foundation brush that I clean after each use. It makes the coverage more even and I don’t get any face mask product under my fingernails.

What face masks do you use and love? Obviously, I love them and would love more recommendations!

  1. I love face masks but sadly have never tried any from Glam Glow. They are definitely on my list though! And I wanted to love the L’Oreal one so badly but it broke me out so I had to get rid of it. 🙁 Thanks for sharing! xoxo

  2. I have very sensitive skin so I’m thinking I might try the E.L.F mask if they make one for sensitive skin. I don’t take the greatest care of my skin, never have, so I’m sure my face would enjoy this! Thanks Camille

  3. I’m always on the hunt for new facemasks and I have had the Loreal one in the back of my head for a while now, I’m not sure though about it because it’s Loreal…
