Skin care can be expensive. You can find just a small jar of moisturizer (or anything else) and have to pay $100 or more! Now, while I think it’s important to take care of your skin, I simply cannot afford many of the more expensive and luxury brands out there. The drugstore has a few good options of good skincare that is affordable. However, with so many different affordable brands selling skin care, it can be hard to know which ones are good, and will actually work on your skin. To help you out, I’ve come up with a list of brands that I have used and trust. Here are my favorite affordable skin care brands!

Skin Care Brands in the Drugstore
Although these brands are found in most drugstores, they also each have their own websites. Some are also sold on Sephora and Ulta.
Simple
Simple is a brand that can be found in most drugstores, as well as big stores such as Target and Walmart. They are known for being gentle on the skin, and have a few different ranges of products. My favorite product from Simple that I use all the time is their Micellar water makeup removing wipes. These never burn my eyes and get all of my makeup off when I am too lazy to do a full face wash.
CeraVe
The brand CeraVe mostly has face wash and daily moisturizers. They do have a few serums, but they are pretty much a no-frills skin care brand. If you are just starting to get into skin care, this is a brand that you can find almost everywhere, and it’s easy to pick out what you might need. My favorite product from CeraVe is their regular moisturizer!
Cetaphil
Another no-frills brand similar to CeraVe is Cetaphil. This is a good brand if you know nothing or just a little about skin care. I’ve used their gentle skin cleanser many times!
e.l.f.
e.l.f. is a brand known mostly for their affordable beauty products. They also have gotten into the skin care game, and have come out with some good products! I love their hydrating bubble mask – but be aware, it tickles a lot when it is on!
Pixi
Pixi is a pricier brand for drugstore skin care, but it is still affordable and has awesome products! I’ve used the pixi x Caroline Hirons double cleanse a few times and I am just now remembering how much I love it. Well, I guess I’ll be ordering that right now!

Skin Care Brands Online
These brands are found exclusively online at this point in time.
The Ordinary
The Ordinary has so many skin care products that do different things, it’s almost overwhelming! I purchased a starter kit a while back and the product that I enjoyed the most was the granactive retinoid.
Fourth Ray Beauty
Fourth Ray Beauty is the skin care line that comes from ColourPop, one of my favorite affordable makeup brands. I will be totally honest and say I have not tried this brand yet, but since it comes from ColourPop, I think it could be good!
Aztec Secret
Aztec Secret is a brand with really only one product. It’s the cult-favorite Indian healing clay mask. You’ve probably heard of this product since EVERYONE talks about it, but that’s because it really is that good!
Mario Badescu
Mario Badescu is similar to the Ordinary in that it has a lot of products that do lots of different things. I couldn’t pick just one of my favorite products so I picked three! I love the drying lotion, their facial sprays, and toner.

Those are my top 9 favorite affordable skin care brands, along with my favorite products from each brand. This is list is by no means exhaustive – I know there are other great drugstore brands out there. These just happen to be my favorites!
